Gamma chairs barred: Vincent Sheppard wins plagiarism case

Furniture manufacturer Vincent Sheppard has obtained a court order in The Hague barring Intergamma from selling its Amelie garden chairs and lounge sets in the European Union. According to the judge, the models are virtually identical to Vincent Sheppard’s Kodo collection.

“Virtually identical”

The West Flemish furniture maker took the matter to court after discovering garden chairs and lounge sets at Gamma last spring that, according to the company, copied its designs. Vincent Sheppard sells its Kodo chair for approximately 530 euros, while Gamma charged less than 100 euros for the comparable Amelie chair.
