Danone’s revenue growth in the third quarter is largely due to price increases. Protein-rich foods and health products remain key growth drivers. In the United States, the food giant is taking steps to address its underperformance.
Focus on health
Danone’s revenue grew by 5.2% in the third quarter to 7.23 billion euros. Organic growth amounted to 4%, of which 3.6% came from price increases and 0.4% from volume growth. These are solid figures, but they do reveal a point of concern: the growth stems almost entirely from higher prices, with hardly any contribution from increased volumes.
