Unilever posted better-than-expected third-quarter results thanks to strong performance from its leading brands in the household, personal care, and beauty categories. The food division lagged slightly behind.
Volume growth in core categories
In the third quarter, revenue rose 5.2% to 13.3 billion euros. Volumes increased by 2.9%, aided by price increases in response to rising raw material costs. The focus on its strongest brands—such as Dove, Axe, and Persil—is proving to pay off, with revenue growth of 5.8% and volume growth of 3.3% for these “power brands.”
