Delhaize and Albert Heijn store shelves are being restocked

Delhaize store owners can place orders again, and Albert Heijn stores are once again receiving normal deliveries. However, the Albert Heijn online store will not resume operations until next week at the earliest.

Problems not yet resolved

Since Friday, Delhaize store owners have been able to place orders again. In recent days, they were supplied based on the retailer’s estimates because the ordering systems were down, a consequence of the major cyber incident that affected Ahold Delhaize. The IT issues are not yet resolved, but Delhaize has managed to resume order processing via a workaround, spokesperson Roel Dekelver told the Belga news agency. E-commerce capacity will return to normal levels starting this weekend.

Albert Heijn stores are being fully restocked, the retailer reported in an update. As a result, the shelves are filling up again: “Our customers once again have the wide selection they’ve come to expect from us, ranging from fresh bread, fruits, and vegetables to dairy, meat, and non-perishable items.” The retailer has had to cancel all groceries ordered online through Sunday, October 18, at the very least. It is also not yet possible to place new orders. Customers who have already paid for their orders will be reimbursed as soon as the systems are back up and running.
