Will Colruyt acquire 18 Belgian Carrefour supermarkets in exchange for Codifrance?

Details regarding the possible sale of Codifrance, Colruyt’s French wholesale business, to Carrefour are not known, but according to a French newsletter, 18 Belgian Carrefour stores are also set to change hands. The retailer denies this.

Concerns

This morning, Colruyt Group confirmed a rumor that has been circulating for over a week: the Belgian retailer is in exclusive negotiations with Carrefour regarding the sale of Codifrance, a wholesaler that supplies some 3,000 neighborhood stores and represents Colruyt’s last remaining operation in France.
