Probably contamination, not fraud
In a lot of lasagne prepared by Swedish company
Dafgard, a concentration of 1.4% pork was found. It is supposedly a case of
contamination, not of conscious fraud. As a precaution all moose lasagnes in eighteen European countries were taken of the shelves, involving over 17,000 portions.
There was no risk to public safety, because the
pork met the required standards, but it is illegal to have ingredients in a
product that are not listed on the packaging. Furthermore the eating of pork is not allowed for Jews and Muslims.
It is not the first time Ikea had to take
products of the menu this year: earlier it also happened when the meatballs and
the almond cake was taken of the shelves. The famous ‘köttbullar’ contained
horse meat, while the pastry showed traces of intestinal bacteria.
