Following its merger with Andy, Pieter Pot is standing more firmly on its own two feet: the packaging-free online supermarket will launch a completely revamped app on 1 September and, at the same time, reintroduce loose fruits and vegetables into its product lineup.
“Merger bears fruit”
Pieter Pot has been working behind the scenes on a new app over the past few months. It will go live on Tuesday, 1 September, at 9 a.m., the company announced on Instagram. The relaunch will immediately receive a commercial boost: customers will receive free peanut butter, oatmeal, and bananas, among other items. The first fifty customers to place an order will also receive a full refund of their order total.
Pieter Pot is also expanding its product range again: individual fruits and vegetables are returning to the online store. The retailer is thus broadening its selection back toward a more complete grocery basket, after earlier financial problems led to cutbacks.
“The merger of Pieter Pot with Andy is paying off,” the company writes. “We are growing and continuing to build on our ambition to make packaging-free groceries the norm throughout Western Europe.” That growth is already translating into new hires: Pieter Pot is looking for, among other positions, a supply chain specialist who will be responsible for supply and demand planning, production, and logistics.
