The DIY chain Bauhaus is leaving Norway after nearly twenty years. The three stores will close at the end of October, resulting in the loss of 223 jobs. The German group sees insufficient prospects for operating profitably there in the long term.
No economic prospects
Bauhaus is winding down its Norwegian operations. The three home improvement stores in the Oslo and Stavanger regions are expected to close at the end of October. The chain has already begun selling off its remaining inventory. The Norwegian subsidiary is to be fully wound up by the end of this year. “The remaining liquidation of the company will be completed no later than December 31, 2026,” Bauhaus reports.
