Amazon is introducing Amazon Now in the United Kingdom, a lightning-fast delivery service for groceries and basic household items with delivery times of 30 minutes or less. The service offers extra benefits for Prime members.

With a delivery time of 30 minutes, Amazon is going head-to-head with apps such as Deliveroo (of which Amazon owns 11.5%), Just Eat, and Uber Eats in the UK. Initially, a pilot project is running in selected postcodes in Southwark, southeast London, with further rollout in the coming months.
