Co-founder Fanny Moizant is leaving the French marketplace for luxury second-hand goods, Vestiaire Collective, following an internal reorganization. From her brief comment, it can be inferred that she is not leaving of her own accord.
“A chapter is closing”
“II am leaving the company as part of the recent organizational changes. This was not a decision I initiated, nor one I expected, but I accept that it marks the end of an extraordinary chapter,” Moizant wrote on LinkedIn. She founded the company in 2009 together with Sophie Hersan, who will remain as fashion director.
Just a few months ago, Vestiaire Collective appointed CFO Bernard Osta as CEO, succeeding Maximilian Bittner. The new CEO will write a new chapter in the platform’s growth story, the company said at the time. Osta wants to use artificial intelligence to improve the buying and selling experience and accelerate growth. The webshop also wants to increase its presence and brand awareness through marketing campaigns in Europe, the United States, and the Far East.
What the future holds for Moizant is not yet clear: “I don’t know exactly what comes next yet, but I move forward with energy, resilience, and fire in my belly. There’s more to build. More impact to create.”
