British discount chain Poundland is closing another fourteen stores and has already started their clearance sales. The chain was taken over by an American restructuring firm this spring, and dozens of stores have already closed this summer.
Liquidation begun
A third wave of closures, this time involving fourteen stores, has begun, Sky News reports. Twelve of these stores are in England, one in Wales (Prestatyn) and one in Scotland (Coatbridge). The stores involved have already started offering discounts of up to 40 % on remaining stock. All fourteen stores should be permanently closed by 8 February.
