Shortly after the departure of its CEO Jacopo Venturini, Valentino already has a replacement: veteran Riccardo Bellini will strengthen the Italian fashion house’s growth and brand identity.
New chapter
Bellini has more than thirty years of international experience in the fashion and luxury industry: he was previously CEO of Mayhoola Investments, Valentino’s main shareholder, and also held executive positions at prestigious companies such as Chloé, Diesel, Maison Margiela and Procter & Gamble. Now he has to help Valentino return to growth after a difficult period with sales down 2 % last year.
“Valentino is an iconic house that combines exceptional heritage and craftsmanship with a unique creative voice”, Bellini said. The new CEO starts on 1 September and says he looks forward to working with the team to write a new chapter in the brand’s history. Mohamed Rachid, president of Valentino, emphasises Bellini’s strategic experience in the luxury sector. “With Riccardo Bellini, we strengthen the success of Valentino. His strategic vision and leadership, together with the powerful creative vision of Alessandro Michele, will drive the fashion house forward.”
Jacopo Venturini resigned as CEO of Valentino last week for personal reasons.
