The Dutch men’s fashion chain Mr Marvis, known for its colorful shorts and trousers, saw its revenue and profit grow by double digits last year. Soon, the retailer will open its first store in the United Kingdom.
Expanding the store network
Last year, Mr Marvis’s revenue increased by 15% to 83.5 million euros. Profit rose by 28% to nearly 3.5 million euros. This is evident from the most recent annual accounts of Mr Marvis Global Holding, reports RTL. The webshop accounted for over 64 million euros or more than three-quarters of the total revenue. This is not surprising, as the brand originally started as a “pure player”.
However, Mr Marvis sees that customers have a need for offline shopping. Therefore, the retailer has been focusing more on building a physical store network in recent years. Meanwhile, the company has twelve stores in the Netherlands, four in Belgium, and three in Germany. Soon, the first store will open in London. The physical stores generated nearly 19 million euros in revenue last year.
