With a slight increase in revenue thanks to strong sales in the menswear segment, the German fashion group Hugo Boss achieves significantly higher profit figures: the result of a focus on cost control and operational efficiency.
Weak demand in China
Hugo Boss saw revenue in the second quarter of its fiscal year rise by 1 % to 1.01 billion euros. Boss menswear was the engine of growth, with a 5 % increase to 808 million euros. The women’s fashion segment fell by 8 % to 62 million euros, while the casual Hugo line dropped by 12% to 132 million euros.
