In the first half of 2025, Action saw its revenue grow by 17.9% to 7.3 billion euros. This growth was mainly due to store openings, although there was also a like-for-like growth of 6.8%.
Milestones
The Dutch non-food discounter continues to steadily open stores: with the addition of 125 new locations, the chain surpassed the milestone of 3000 stores. This included the 600th German store (in Bremen), the 400th Polish store (in Poznan), and the first Swiss store.
The – still very impressive – growth was somewhat slower than in the first half of 2024: at that time, the chain even managed to increase by more than 20%.
“As the economic climate remains very challenging for many customers, they continue to rely on Action as their favourite store for everyday necessities at the lowest price”, CEO Hajir Hajji explained the success of her chain in a press release.
In the second half of the year, Action aims to grow even harder: the goal is 370 new stores for the entire year – that’s more than one per day. In September, Romania is set to become the fourteenth market for the chain.
