JYSK reaches 1 billion Danish kroner in B2B sales

Although less well known, JYSK also works for B2B customers. So far this financial year, the furniture retailer has sold 1 billion Danish kroner (130 million euro) worth of goods to businesses. It’s the first time the 1 billion mark has been reached.

For schools and flats

On 28 June, JYSK reached a symbolic milestone: for the first time, the Danish home furnishing chain reached 1 billion Danish kroner (130 million euro) in B2B sales within one financial year. The milestone was reached two months before JYSK’s 2021/22 financial year ends in August.

The Business-to-Business activities consist mainly of sales to hotels, restaurants, offices, schools and flat providers. Often these companies simply come to JYSK via the shops or the web shop, but shop staff can refer customers to a dedicated B2B team if required.

Into more countries

JYSK has paid a lot of effort to expanding its B2B model in recent years: today, the Danish Ikea competitor has a department for professional customers in 12 countries, while there were only four in 2018. Since many B2B customers simply buy in the shops, the retailer also trains shop employees to deliberately reach out to these shoppers.

“As we have now reached a new milestone of 1 billion DKK in sales, it is clear to us that there is a lot more potential to gain from JYSK’s B2B model. In the upcoming financial year, it is also our plan to expand our B2B department to even more countries,” says Business-to-Business Director Rene Hartung.
