Zalando offers delivery to 1,100 pick-up points in Belgium

“Many
Belgians prefer pick-up”

“Many
Belgian consumers prefer delivery through pick-up points, as this does not
tie them down to the delivery times at home”, they say at Zalando. That is why
the online fashion retailer is adding about 1,100 pick-up points, all at post
offices – where customers already have to go to return packages –
of bpost.

According to
Zalando, the main benefit is that most of these points are also open outside
regular business hours
and on Saturdays. The German e-tailer also emphasises
that the pick-up points can be used to collect deliveries, but also to make
returns.

By the end
of the year the retailer wants to expand the network to 1,500 locations. In a
few weeks Zalando also wants to add ‘vending machines’ at certain bpost-locations, making pick-ups
possible 24/7. The exact launch date of those machines is not yet known.
