Tupperware on brink of bankruptcy in the Netherlands

The Dutch branch of Tupperware is has been granted protection against creditors. The branch is not part of the European relaunch by French entrepreneur Cédric Meston, but is still selling existing stock.

No relaunch

While Tupperware is relaunching in five countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Poland), the Dutch branch is faltering. Investor Meston is rolling out the brand again, but the Netherlands are not part of that relaunch.

The brand has still been available in the Netherlands “while supplies last”, Tel Sell (the online distributor of Tupperware Netherlands) reports on its website. However, the web shop does not say a word about the provisional suspension of payments, which an Amsterdam court granted on 12 September, Emerce reports. What this means for Dutch customers is still unclear.
