Opendesk shares free furniture designs

There are a lot of beautiful design furniture pieces to be found online, but they are often expensive, while shipping costs leave much to be desired. Opendesk wants to make it possible to get those pieces of furniture for a much lower price.

Opendesk’s website gives visitors the chance to download, for free, the plans for a whole range of furniture. Those can be given to a local furniture maker who can then construct the piece. This will be much cheaper for the customer, boost the local economy and give new designers an easy way to share their ideas. 

Opendesk calls itself Ikea’s AirBnB, because a lot of designs remind people of Ikea furniture, as the parts can easily be constructed into a single piece of furniture. 

The website also offers the Opendesk Express service, which builds furniture and ships it to the customer within 14 days.
