Affordability plays an increasingly important role in how consumers furnish their homes. Yet many people continue to invest in smaller upgrades, especially in storage solutions. This is according to IKEA’s new global “Life at Home” study.
Constant small improvements
Financial concerns weigh heavily on home consumers: 37% of consumers worldwide cite the household budget and disposable income as one of their top concerns. Nearly two out of three actively look for the cheapest product at least occasionally. Lower-income consumers feel this pressure the most. Among them, 37% say their financial situation allows only for smaller home purchases. Among higher-income earners, that figure is 21%.
