Belgian flooring chain FloorHouse has closed its doors this last weekend. The chain had seven stores, all of which are now permanently closing.
Seven stores closed
After seventeen years, the curtain falls on flooring specialist FloorHouse. The news came as a bolt from the blue, local newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen quotes a staff member: “It was indeed a quiet period, but we did not see this coming”.
Since starting in 2008, FloorHouse grew into a chain with seven stores: in Aartselaar, Ghent, Hasselt, Schoten, Turnhout, Wilrijk, and Wommelgem. What the future holds for the nineteen employees, and for the customers who still had to pick up their orders, remains unclear.
