Mitiska REIM has announced the opening of two new retail parks in Romania. The new additions consolidate Mitiska REIM’s position as the leading retail park investor in Romania, with 21 sites across the country.

Opening 20th retail park

Five months after Mitiska REIM’s acquisition of eleven retail parks in Romania, the country’s leading retail investor is adding two more developments to its portfolio. Its 20th retail park opened last week in the northern city of Bistritz (Transylvania), featuring international retailers such as H&M, Pepco and KFC in its 21 units which span 8.900 sqm of store space. Mitiska REIM is planning to add three more retail units as well as a drive-thru restaurant, which will increase the total store surface of the site to 11.000 sqm.

A second, smaller development is scheduled to open in Pascani, situated in the Moldavia region of Romania, and will consist of 5 units with a total store surface of 2.200 sqm and parking for 120 cars. The land for Retail Park Pascani was acquired by Mitiska REIM as part of the Alpha Property portfolio transaction earlier this year, which turned the company into Romania’s leading retail investor.

Mitiska REIM is working closely with local investment partners, a success formula which David Tejml, CEE Investment Director at Mitiska REIM, believes will continue to create “a strong pipeline of new opportunities in Romania and more widely across Europe.”
