Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com opens a distribution center in Belgium

Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com is opening a large distribution center in Willebroek. From Decathlon’s former logistics hub, the company plans to expand its e-commerce operations in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Belgium as a base

JD Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of JD.com, is leasing nearly 48,000 square meters at Park De Hulst in Willebroek. This is the largest warehouse on the site owned by real estate group Montea. For the Chinese newcomer, the site is strategically located between Antwerp and Brussels, and the Brussels-Scheldt Canal and the Willebroek container terminal are also nearby.
