New CEO tasked with getting Exki back on track for growth

Belgian food chain Exki has found a successor for Stan Monheim, who stepped down in September: former McDonald’s and Accor manager Xavier Royaux will take the helm in December.

Ambitious investment plan

After a transformation period of more than twenty months in which Monheim consolidated the organisation, strengthened its financial structure and launched a new brand identity, his successor has to help Exki enter a new phase in its development of Exki – a period of growth and expansion. Now that the foundations are in place, the new CEO will implement an ambitious investment plan to further expand the chain’s network.

Royaux joins from hotel group Accor and previously held various management positions at McDonald’s France. Before that, he worked in the communications sector. “It is an honor to join Exki, a brand that pioneers pleasure, naturalness and responsibility. My ambition is to further develop this DNA, continue the transformation of recent months, make the Exki brand shine again, and accelerate its development in Europe and beyond”, he stated in a press release.

The CEO will work closely with Chief Operating Officer Pierre Toutel, who took up his position on 15 September. The restaurant chain, which operates in five countries, is confirming its ambition to become a European benchmark in ‘sustainable fast food’.
