Izy Coffee restarts with 11 coffee bars following a “quiet bankruptcy”

Izy Coffee is making a fresh start with eleven coffee bars. To do so, the Belgian chain is utilizing the new procedure for confidential bankruptcy preparations. Five locations will close, but 85% of the employees will keep their jobs.

From dreams of growth to restructuring

In recent months, the coffee chain has struggled with rising energy and raw material prices, higher labor costs, and changing consumer behavior. Under court supervision, Izy Coffee sought a way to preserve as many operations and jobs as possible through a so-called “silent bankruptcy.”
