Exports of food and beverages from the United Kingdom to the European Union have fallen by 23.4 % over the past five years compared to the five years before Brexit, according to the British Food and Drink Federation (FDF).
Germany and Poland halved
Exports of food and drink products to the EU fell from 6.7 billion kilograms in 2016-20 to 5.1 billion kilograms in 2021-25, the FDF reports. Exports to Germany and Poland more than halved (- 59.1 % and – 51.9 % respectively), but exports to Belgium also fell sharply (- 39.9 %), according to the report.
