In the UK, Aldi is partnering with Deliveroo to offer fast grocery delivery; in Germany, parent company Aldi Süd is bringing on board a former Amazon and Rohlik manager to further expand its e-commerce operations.
Delivery drivers do the work
Due to high logistics costs, e-commerce has not been an option for most discounters until now, but things do seem to be moving forward in this area at Aldi Süd. In the United Kingdom, the retailer is partnering with Deliveroo. Customers will be able to order approximately 2,000 Aldi products via the Deliveroo app. The “Shop & Deliver” service will be tested in eight stores starting Tuesday, October 6. A nationwide launch is planned for early 2027.
