Belgian princess Delphine’s art reproductions remain on Aldi shelves

Aldi’s art campaign featuring Belgian Princess Delphine does not appear to be repeating the success of the one with Koen Vanmechelen—at least not yet. More than a week after its launch, the reproductions are still in ample supply at some stores.

Controversy over the word ‘art’

Since late September, Aldi has been selling reproductions of a work by Princess Delphine for 24.99 euros, with proceeds going to charity. However, the campaign immediately sparked controversy because the princess openly objected to the way the supermarket chain presented the works in its flyer.
