Left Media-Saturn after merely 2 months
Mehring-Schlegel became Media-Saturn CFO in 2012, but left the company just two months later as Erich Kellerhals, Media
Markt’s founder, opposed his appointment at that time. Back then, Kellerhals
had a lot of influence on Media-Saturn’s day-to-day operations.
Metro received permission to bypass Kellerhals late last year, giving it the
power to make important Media-Saturn decisions. It is very likely that Mehring-Schlegel’s return has something to do with this. A Metro spokesperson
has divulged that the Media-Saturn
advisory board will have until March to decide Media-Saturn’s management
composition, a board in which that Metro has the final say.
