This week in Benelux retail: billion euro deal with Hema, Bijenkorf and V&D coming up?

A huge real estate deal in the Netherlands caught our eye this Friday, but there was more retail news from the Benelux. Sligro‘s net profit is down almost 10% as supermarket chain Emté is still problematic, smart phones break down way too soon and Charles Vögele disappears from the Netherlands.

    Pepco Group reports 8.7 % revenue growth without Poundland

    The Polish Pepco Group saw its turnover increase by 8.7 % to 4.52 billion euros in the past financial year (ending 30 September). Comparable sales rose by 2.6 %, and the group added 247 stores. The group is continuing its strategy of operating towards a single Pepco format.
