Car manufacturer Fiat Chrysler is going to sell some of its cars online, on the Amazon platform. The first step is to sell three models on Amazon’s Italian web shop, with an additional discount to entice consumers.

Finalize with dealership

Available on Amazon are the Fiat 500, the Fiat 500L and the Fiat Panda: the first two models are for a younger, more adventurous audience willing to buy cars online. The Fiat Panda was chosen because it is simply the best selling model in Italy.  “The time has arrived to give consumers a new, more efficient and transparent way to choose a new vehicle,” Gianluca Italia, responsible for Fiat Chrysler in Italy, said.

Customers will enjoy a good deal when they buy online at Amazon, because all current promotions will get up to 33 % better online. Italia added more than half of the Italian customers are willing to buy a car online, but that 97 % still prefers a traditional dealership. However, customers who buy on Amazon will finalize their purchase at a local dealership, in order to keep that bond. Two weeks after an online purchase, the car should be ready for pick-up.
