Frasers Group has acquired a majority stake in Hugo Boss and is now fully integrating the German fashion company into its group. With an additional share purchase, the British retailer has surpassed the 50% threshold, despite a previous rejected takeover attempt.
Hugo Boss becomes a subsidiary
On October 23, Frasers purchased an additional 7.63 million euros worth of Hugo Boss shares. As a result, the group now owns 50.08% of the total share capital. Hugo Boss thus becomes a subsidiary of the British group: from now on, Frasers will include all of Hugo Boss’s profits, assets, and liabilities in its consolidated financial statements.
