Court agrees with former Jumbo CEO Frits van Eerd: further investigation is needed

Fresh hope for former Jumbo CEO Frits van Eerd: on appeal, the court of appeals has granted virtually all of his lawyers’ requests. The Public Prosecutor’s Office must produce hundreds of missing documents and call new witnesses.

Case file “a mess”

The Zwolle Court of Appeals ruled on Wednesday that the Public Prosecutor’s Office (OM) must add additional documents to Frits van Eerd’s criminal case file within three months. Three witnesses will also be re-interviewed, and a fourth may be added. The ruling marks a significant victory for Van Eerd’s defense team.
