All Albert Heijn distribution centers will be back up and running by the end of the day, the retailer said in an update regarding the cyber incident that affected Ahold Delhaize. Online ordering and delivery are not yet available.
“A great step forward”
“We worked hard last night to fully restart our distribution centers. We expect all our distribution centers to be operational again by the end of the day. This is a great step forward in restoring our supply chain. Regular deliveries of non-perishable products to our stores have resumed. We are also working toward resuming regular deliveries of fresh products.” This is the update Albert Heijn published on Wednesday at 11:20 a.m.
As a result of a major cyber incident, several distribution centers were shut down, leaving stores with empty shelves in both the Netherlands and Belgium. The situation should now gradually improve, although product availability may still vary by store and product category. Online ordering and delivery are not yet available. Customers who have already paid for their orders will be reimbursed as soon as the systems are back up and running. Customer service is also still unavailable. The investigation into the nature and cause of the cybersecurity incident is ongoing. At this time, there are no indications that customer or employee data was compromised in the incident.
