HalfPrice, a Polish outlet retailer with more than 220 stores in 15 European countries, is coming to Belgium: in November, the chain will open five stores in Shopping Cora malls, followed by a sixth in 2027.
3,000 m² stores
Mitiska REIM, the real estate firm redeveloping the six former Cora hypermarket sites in Belgium, announced the news: in November, HalfPrice will open five stores in Châtelineau, Anderlecht, Messancy, Hornu, and Rocourt, which together account for more than 15,000 m² of retail space. The sixth location is planned for La Louvière in 2027.
The arrival of HalfPrice marks another significant milestone in the transformation of the Cora Shopping locations. After all, this is a leading off-price retailer offering a wide selection of international brands in fashion, shoes, accessories, home goods, sports, and leisure—all under one roof and at exceptionally low prices.
New momentum
“The concept, the wide range of product categories, and the off-price positioning—which is still relatively underrepresented in Belgium—will give the locations a new boost and extend their appeal far beyond their immediate catchment area,” says Bram Thomas, Managing Director of Mitiska REIM.
HalfPrice is part of the Polish group Modiva Platform, which also owns brick-and-mortar and online retailers such as CCC (shoes), eobuwie (shoes), ShockPrice (home goods and fashion outlet), SK Store (basketball), Boatrdriders (skate), Warsaw Sneaker Store, and Beverly Hills Polo Club.
The retailer is continuing its westward expansion from Eastern Europe: the brand is now active in Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy.
