Former H&M executive takes on global retail role at Mango

Mango has appointed Katarzyna “Kasia” Niemirowicz Majtas as chief retail officer. The former H&M executive will be responsible for the continued expansion of the brick-and-mortar store network. The Spanish fashion challenger is thus positioning itself more and more as a thorn in the side of the fast-fashion giants.

Toward 3,000 retail locations

Niemirowicz Majtas joined Mango as retail director for Northern Europe as recently as May 2026. Just a few months later, she has already moved up to the management team, where she will be responsible for global retail operations. “In her new role, Kasia will oversee our global retail strategy, support the further expansion of our store network and our growth in international markets, and contribute to the development of our strategic 4E plan,” Mango told FashionNetwork.

The Polish retail executive brings more than twenty years of international experience to the table. She gained much of that experience at the H&M Group, where she rose from store manager to serve for two years as global sales director at & Other Stories. She eventually became regional director for Spain and Portugal, followed by Italy and Eastern Europe.

Mango is currently in the midst of international expansion: following a major restructuring prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fashion group is now active again in more than 120 markets with over 2,900 retail locations. In 2025, revenue rose by 13% to 3.767 billion euros. In the first half of the current fiscal year, another 1.852 billion euros was added to that total, a 7.2% increase over the previous year.
