The AI race is accelerating both on and behind the scenes: Meta, Facebook’s parent company, aims to position its new personal assistant, Muse, directly between consumers and retailers, while Amazon is securing tens of billions worth of AI chips. The ultimate goal is the same: control over the technology that will soon be searching, selecting, and purchasing.
“Does the work for you”
Meta has launched Muse in the United States, a personal AI agent capable of performing tasks independently. Among other things, the assistant can shop online, book travel, send emails, fill out forms, and organize appointments. It continues to work even when the user closes the app.
