Broeklin Brussels has announced four more new tenants. With these new additions, the shopping center now has a total of twelve announced brands. The Belgian fashion brand Marie Méro and telecom operator Orange will open stores, as well as the Japanese-inspired dining concepts Umamido and Rōru.
Belgian fashion and telecom
With Marie Méro, Broeklin Brussels is once again bringing in a Belgian fashion brand. The Van der Elst family-owned business has been designing women’s fashion since 1971 and caters to a broad audience, with collections in sizes 36 through 48. Brothers Steven and Ruben Van der Elst currently lead the company, which employs about fifty people and manages the entire chain—from design to sales—in-house.
Telecom operator Orange Belgium has also confirmed its arrival at Broeklin. The store will offer smartphones, service plans, and telecom advice. This further expands the project’s commercial offerings beyond the traditional fashion and hospitality sectors.
Hospitality sector gets a double boost
In the hospitality sector, Broeklin has chosen two Belgian concepts with Japanese inspiration. Umamido, which specializes in ramen and broths, is opening a location there. Rōru Ricebowls & Sushi Rolls, which focuses on rice bowls and sushi rolls, is also coming to Machelen. Previously, Pureto, Jimmyz Burgers, and Délitraiteur also announced their arrival as food service concepts.
According to the plans, the former Uplace project in Machelen will feature 55,000 square meters of retail space and 11,500 square meters of food and beverage space, with room for more than 180 stores and 40 restaurants. Developer Bart Verhaeghe is aiming for an opening in the fall of 2029. Construction has already begun, and Broeklin will be announcing even more tenants in the coming months.
