The French cosmetics chain Sephora is continuing its expansion in Belgium. Following openings at the Docks Bruxsel and City2 shopping centers in Brussels, Westland Shopping is now also on the agenda. An opening in Liège had already been announced.
Prime location
Westland Shopping announced the news itself on its social media channels: Sephora will soon open at the well-known shopping center in Anderlecht. This comes as a bit of a surprise, as after the openings at Docks Bruxsel on June 25 and City2 on July 9, the cosmetics retailer had previously announced only one store opening—scheduled for September—at the Médiacité shopping center in Liège.
So a fourth Belgian store will definitely be added to that list. An opening date has not yet been announced. Sephora has not yet communicated about additional locations, but the retailer did indicate that the priority in the initial phase is on the French-speaking part of the country: Flanders would follow only after about ten openings.
In any case, Westland Shopping is once again a prime location in the Brussels region for the retailer. Just recently, the shopping center announced new record figures: in June, it welcomed more than 650,000 visitors—a 16.6% increase from the previous year and the highest monthly figure so far this year. Hot days in July and August also led to notable spikes in visitor numbers.
