[In the picture] Waterloo is a springboard for further growth e5 fashion chain

Even before the official launch, the first French-speaking store of the e5 fashion chain is performing quite well. The retailer, which is growing strongly in a shrinking market, is therefore confident that its venture in Wallonia will be a success.

“Building on our own strengths”

With a 450 m² store on the bustling Chaussée de Bruxelles in downtown Waterloo—a 500,000-euro investment—e5 is testing the waters in the French-speaking market. With a festive opening weekend on the horizon, CEO Peter De Sutter already sounds confident: “Since its quiet opening last Friday, this store has already been performing in the middle of the pack, without us having to do anything. The location is excellent, with free parking nearby. You have to give this at least two years, but I believe in it 100 percent. We’ve also recruited an outstanding team, including former employees from the local IKKS store, who know the market and the local customers well.”
