Danone is raising its sustainability goals for 2030. Among other things, the food manufacturer aims to reduce the sugar content in its dairy and plant-based products and source nearly half of its key ingredients from regenerative agriculture. In Belgium, the group is building on previous initiatives in recipe reformulation, transportation, and agriculture.
Stricter on sugar
With the second phase of the Danone Impact Journey, the food group is extending and tightening its goals to “bring health through nutrition to as many people as possible.” One of the most notable goals concerns sugar. By 2030, Danone aims to set an upper limit of 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams for all daily dairy and plant-based products worldwide.
