The French furniture chain Alinea, owned by the Mulliez family (Auchan, Leroy Merlin, and others), disappears for good. The court ordered the company’s liquidation; there were no potential buyers. A 36-year retail history comes to an end and results in the loss of more than 1,200 jobs.
No future
Alinea had been in court-supervised restructuring since late 2025 but failed to find a buyer. The judge therefore ordered full liquidation. First, all 36 company-owned stores will close, followed by the eight franchise locations—including those in Annemasse, Le Havre, and Mantes.
