Carrefour Spain has achieved its 100th store opening of 2025. With a Carrefour Express on Calle General Perón in Madrid, the retailer has fulfilled its previously announced ambition to open 100 new stores across Spain by the end of the year.
“Market leader since 2019”
This year’s openings have created more than 1,100 new jobs, the retailer says. According to Carrefour, this achievement confirms its position as the most expansive player in the Spanish retail market. The group says that it has been the undisputed market leader in terms of new store openings since 2019.
Thanks to this sustained growth rate, Carrefour is approaching 1,600 stores in Spain. “We are committed to a multi-format strategy, with hypermarkets and convenience stores. In this way, we want to be where our customers are and offer them the best range at the best price. That is the core of Carrefour Spain’s differentiation”, Proximity Director Jesús Bermejo added.
