Lidl is reopening its completely rebuilt supermarket in Libramont on Wednesday. The store is designed to significantly improve the customer experience, with an emphasis on sustainability, comfort, and quality. The reopening underscores the retailer’s long-term commitment to the region, where the chain has been present since 1998.
Larger and more extensive range
The demolition of the old building and its reconstruction began in mid-May 2025, as a simple renovation could no longer support the ambitions for customer service and the workplace. “At Lidl, one of our priorities is to provide the best possible service and the best possible working environment. We had a clear desire to make the store more accessible and comfortable for our customers, while significantly improving the working conditions of our employees. In addition, only a complete reconstruction allowed us to integrate more recent environmental standards to ensure a sustainable building,” said Walériane Dubois Decroix, spokesperson for Lidl Belgium and Luxembourg.
