Kroger has agreed to give Ocado a one-time payment of 350 million dollars (300 million euros), after the American retailer has decided to close three robotic warehouses and scrapped plans for one new site.
Delivering themselves
Last month, Kroger announced its intention to close Ocado centres in Florida, Maryland and Wisconsin in January. Instead, the American chain wants to test fulfilment from the stores themselves in high-volume areas. The chain is also aiming for more collaboration with delivery services DoorDash, Instacart and Uber Eats.
