Swedish fashion chain Arket has opened its third Dutch store today, in Leidschendam near The Hague. The 322 sqm store in the Mall of the Netherlands is its first Benelux store in a shopping centre.
Minimalist design
The new store is a “modern-day market”, the chain writes on its website: “an inspiring design and lifestyle destination with a broad, edited assortment for the entire family, representing a slower-paced retail experience with room to breathe.”
With its “archive shelving systems in a monochrome palette of soft greys, combined with a variety of natural materials such as solid oak interiors and custom-made terrazzo flooring”, the store is designed to follow Arket’s Scandinavian minimalist design.
It is the third Dutch store for the H&M subsidiary, which also has city centre stores in Amsterdam and The Hague. The chain was launched in 2017 and is currently active in twenty markets (mostly European, but also in China and South Korea), with expansions to Czechia and Greece planned in the near future.
