Ikea is acquiring the American technology company Locus, which specializes in logistics optimization using artificial intelligence. The Swedish furniture giant aims to make its deliveries faster, cheaper, and more flexible.
Savings of 100 million euros per year
The acquisition is being made through Ingka Investments, the investment arm of the Ingka Group, which operates most Ikea stores. The acquisition price has not been disclosed, but in the last capital round in 2021, Locus was valued at 300 million US dollars (around 277 million euros).
