DoorDash completes Deliveroo acquisition and appoints new CEO

DoorDash has formally closed its acquisition of Deliveroo and appointed Wolt co-founder Miki Kuusi as Deliveroo’s new CEO. He will combine the role with his current position as head of international at DoorDash.

Same name, new leadership

Kuusi, one of six founders of Wolt acquired by DoorDash in 2022, will relocate to London in the coming months. In an open letter, DoorDash co-founder and CEO Tony Xu called the acquisition “the beginning of a new chapter, not the end of an old one”. Kuusi’s appointment follows last month’s news that Deliveroo founder and CEO Will Shu will step down after 13 years, following the acquisition.
