A thousand Gucci employees are threatening a strike because parent company Kering is not paying out certain bonuses. The situation puts additional pressure on the luxury brand, which recently revamped its management and is already weighed down by declining results.
Lingering bonus issue
Unions at Gucci Italia, representing mostly retail and logistics staff, have formally declared a “state of unrest”. They are demanding payment of promised welfare bonuses for 2022, 2023 and 2024, which were agreed with Kering in July 2022. However, the payment remains outstanding, much to the frustration of the staff.
