Barry Callebaut is struggling with the historically high cocoa prices. The Swiss chocolate producer sees its sales volumes plummet and is unable to pass the price hikes onto its customers.

The price of cocoa remains above 8,000 US dollars per ton despite a recent drop, which is more than double the historical price range of 2,000 to 3,000 dollars. Additionally, the sector is struggling with a shortage of essential ingredients such as cocoa powder and cocoa butter.
